The Krasnodar region has a unique combination of recreation resources, including an excellent climate, warm sea, balneological resources, and picturesque natural landscapes. The region has become the most popular tourist destination in Russia.
The main tourist and recreation zone of Krasnodar region is the Black Sea coast. It is characterized by the maritime and foothill climate of humid subtropics, as well as a wide choice of spa and medical institutions. Within the boundaries of this zone are also located the main resorts of federal importance. Among them the most popular is Sochi - a unique subtropical resort - a tourist gem not only in the region, but also in the whole country.
The Black Sea coast is distinguished by the diversity of nature - beautiful landscapes, including the mountains of the Western Caucasus with dense forests, glaciers and alpine meadows, fertile plains, subtropical vegetation on the Black Sea coast and many kilometers of beaches.
The presence of a significant amount of mineral water deposits and therapeutic mud allowed the Krasnodar region to become a popular seaside balneological and resort and recreational center of Russia. Services in balneotherapy and mud therapy in Krasnodar region are provided by 190 sanatorium-resort organizations, in which balneological and mud wards and rooms are open, as well as drinking water tanks with mineral water.
The rich hydromineral base of the region is also represented by the mineral waters of the drinking profile. The best known and studied are the hydrogen sulfide sources of Matsesta and Goryachiy Klyuch.
Significant recreational resources are also found in the Azov coast of the Krasnodar region: the coastal flat-steppe climate, hydrogen sulfide springs and silt mud, especially in the area of Yeisk.
The popularization of wine beverages and the centuries-old production culture contributed to the birth of a new type of tourism - winemaking. Today in the Kuban there are many directions for wine tours.
The XXII Olympic Winter Games and the XI Paralympic Winter Games helped to transform Sochi into a world-class alpine resort. Krasnodar region has an excellent reputation as one of Russia’s best ski centers.
Krasnodar region boasts more than 600 objects of tourist display, including 292 tourist and excursion routes.
